This is the amount of lightning strikes in the last 24 hrs in Western Canada...even though some areas got rain please remember a lot didn't and it is still horrendously dry, so continue to be FireSmart.

EWF-086 is a 3 ha wildfire burning out of control 20km southeast of Edson.

Alberta Wildfire has 24 firefighters, two helicopters on scene. Six airtankers are assisting and heavy equipment is enroute.

If you see smoke or flame and suspect it's a wildfire, call 310-FIRE.

The #BCWildfire Service is continuing suppression efforts for the wildfire southwest of Deka Lake (C41102). This wildfire is estimated to be 70 hectares and is experiencing increased fire behaviour.

Evacuated residents may return home at 7pm. Checkpoints still in place on HWY 16A. Follow emergency personnel and municipal instructions
